The Pashli Medium Satchel I have is the Black “Mixed Media” crocodile version from a few seasons ago. I found mine on eBay, or there’s a newer geometric croc version of it at Saks. The medium satchel size works well as a laptop bag for a 13″ Macbook Pro, and the side gussets unzip to create a bigger bag. If you add carabiners to the strap d-rings it also makes a great bicycle pannier. It’s the perfect size for me to tote stuff between the office, errands, flights, and then take out with me at night on the weekends, too.

Quick review of Target’s version versus the original 3.1 Collection: Last fall I scooped up a couple bags from Target’s capsule Philip Lim collection, a small cross body for myself and large tote for mom. For a budget bag, I thought aesthetics of the faux leather and gold hardware was spot on, but there was a big lack in quality that was seriously disappointing. The magnetic closure on the small bag fell off after less than a week. In contrast, I carry my original 3.1 satchel almost every day and it looks gorgeous and works just the same as the day I bought it nearly a year ago – it’s a beautiful investment bag made of heavy, quality leather. If you like the style and are looking for a knock around version, Target’s can still be found on eBay, but I would not recommend the budget version for anything else. The quality, feel, and level of detail between Lim’s Target and 3.1 collection are galaxies apart (as one might expect!).
